Barren Strawberry "Waldsteinia Fragarioides", which is also known as barren strawberry, is a
compact plant grown primarily as a ground cover. Features strawberry-like, trifoliate leaves
arranged in rosettes, 5-petaled, strawberry-like, yellow flowers and inedible fruit (berries).
Typically grows 4-6" tall and spreads by stolons and rhizomes to form a thick carpet of foliage.
No serious insect or disease problems.

Ginger wild "Asarum Candense", They have interesting, brown, jug-shaped flowers that are
attached at soil level. The leaves of Deciduous Wild Ginger are bright green, heart-shaped,
slightly fuzzy, and large (up to 6 inches across), and it is the only native ginger that loses its
leaves in the winter. However, it is also the fastest spreader and makes a great groundcover in
good soil in the shade. It grows to about 6 inches.

Houttuynia cordata "Chameleon"  This is a low-growing perennial that spreads by runners to 3
feet or more. The heart-shaped foliage is beautifully variegated with cream, pink, yellow and
red. White 4 bracted flowers appear in early summer.  Can be used around ponds and in moist
soils. It will die down in the cooler months.

Lamiastrum galeobdolon "Variegatum" is a
stoloniferous, spreading perennial that
features stunning green and silver variegated
foliage with 2" long leaves that are oval to
nearly round. It forms a loose mat of foliage
which spreads indefinitely.

Lamium Maculatum "Spotted Dead Nettle" An all time favorite fast growing perennial to be used
as a ground cover!  Lamium prefers a semi-shady dry area with well-drained soil but will
tolerate a wide range of soils and moisture.  It is best to cut this plant back after the first bloom
to promote compact growth. Deer resistant.

unusual, but stunningly beautiful perennial
has oval leaves that are green with a black
chevron mark and overlain with a white and
pink sector toward the tip. In late summer,
plants are topped with airy stalks of tiny red

Plumbago Hardy "Ceratostigma Plumbaginoides" Electric blue flowers in early fall on this
hardy groundcover. Plant en masse for stunning red fall foliage color. Hardy Plumbago is widely
adaptabe to many soil types.  Plumbago breaks dormancy very late in the spring: Be patient!
