Skimmia japonica is a shrub that is popularly cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and
parks. Its flower can be cream-yellow to white. The fruit is a small round berry that ranges in color
from purple to red. It can tolerate frost and droughts.  Berry's start in September/October and can
last through December, because birds do not normally eat them!  Disease and insect free. This
species is native to Japan.
